Sonrisa studio apartments in Downtown Sacramento, is the first project to break ground under Governor Newsom’s order of Affordable Housing Development. This 26,353 square feet project features 58 micro-units of affordable housing including a ground-floor community space. The 5-story building was the first time using cross laminated timber (CLT) in this region, for horizontal and vertical components of the building. Each unit includes a built-in sofa/wall bed and wardrobe closet, ceiling fans, floor-to-ceiling windows, and individual-controlled HVAC systems.
